Pat had said those words out loud so many times that she had actually convinced herself she wanted to live her life that way. Without love. Without hassle. Without hurt. That was the real reason she didn't want a relationship. She'd been hurt once before and the pain and the memories still haunted her. She didn't want to open herself up to the chance of that happening again, but, as she lay there beside the beautiful redhead, for the first time, she felt like maybe this, what she had with Sheena, was a chance worth taking.
